Mission
Development of an integrated and federated platform to collect, share and analyse clinical and scientific data of patients from each of the 51 IRCCSs participating in the project, and to provide advanced analytical resources for data analysis.
Objectives
Creation and/or enhancement of:
- a set of local IT platforms, at each of the participating IRCCSs, to ensure the extraction, integration and interoperability of clinical and scientific data;
- a federated cloud IT platform, ensuring connectivity between IRCCSs and advanced analysis of shared data.
The type of data that will be collected and shared is heterogeneous and includes omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics); clinical data (electronic medical records and patient follow-up data); clinical imaging and radiomics data; and patient–provided data. In the medium term, data from biosensors, environmental, social and economic data will also be included.
The platform will have to ensure connectivity between the IRCCSs participating in the project, with other Italian and non-Italian research institutes, with Servizio Sanitario Nazionale (SSN) databases and with international public databases. This will make it possible to develop predictive and prescriptive analysis capabilities, based on the integration of omics and clinical data and on the study of aggregated patient subgroups, for various biological and clinical parameters, with the possibility of access and sharing by individual operators in each IRCCS.
