The Health Big Data (HBD) project, funded by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and coordinated by the Ministry of Healthinvolves 51 Institutes of Hospitalisation and Scientific Care (IRCCS) belonging to the following four Networks.

Cardiology Network
Alleanza Contro il Cancro (Alliance Against Cancer or ACC)
Neuroscience and Neurorehabilitation Network (RIN)
IDEA Paediatric Network

The project is coordinated by ACC and managed by the Networks in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano (Polytechnic University of Milan), the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano (Polytechnic Foundation of Milan), the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (National Institute of Nuclear Physics or INFN) and Reply.

ACC's mission is to bring technological and organisational innovation from basic research to clinical practice, raising and standardising the level of care, treatment and rehabilitation of cancer patients throughout the country.

Fondazione Politecnico di Milano reinforces the development path of the Politecnico di Milano by making innovation usable, sharing the many strengths that characterise research in the fields of engineering, architecture and design with production companies and the local area, and boosting progress to build the future.

The INFN is the national public research organisation dedicated to the study of the fundamental constituents of matter and the laws that govern them. It conducts research, both theoretical and experimental, in the fields of subnuclear, nuclear and astroparticle physics.

The Politecnico is a public scientific-technological university that has always focused on the quality and innovation of teaching and research, developing a fruitful relationship with the economic and productive reality of the country.

Reply is the technology partner of HealthBigData, and is involved in the creation of the federated platform and the analysis of clinical, imaging and omics data produced by IRCCSs.

The CARDIOLOGY NETWORK is the largest Italian research network in the cardiovascular field, whose mission is to facilitate and promote scientific and technological research in the field of cardiovascular diseases.

The IDEA network is the IRCCS paediatric network, which deals with: (i) protecting the health of children and adolescents; (ii) promoting scientific and technological research; and (iii) collaboration between all the IRCCSs belonging to the Network.

The RIN Network was founded to stimulate collaboration between the IRCCSs in the field, to encourage the dissemination of information on clinical-scientific activity and to coordinate actions of international relevance, aimed at increasing the prominence and competitiveness of this field.
